Rev. Heidi Worthen Gamble is the Mission Catalyst for the Presbytery of the Pacific. Heidi has served as Director of Nativity House, a drop-in center for people experiencing homelessness in Tacoma, Washington; Co-Pastor of Savoonga Presbyterian Church, a Siberian Yupik Inuit congregation in Savoonga, Alaska; and Business Manager of the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii, PC (USA). She is a graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary, where she received her Masters of Divinity in 1997, one of the youngest female pastors to be ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She is a recent Board Member of Matthew 25 Southern California, past Faith Leader Appointee to Mayor Garcetti’s Interfaith Council, and past Board Member of CLUE, Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice. Her publications are Insights from the Underside: an Intergenerational Conversation of Ministers and Mutual Transformation in Mission: Conversations in Liturgical/Missional Communities and Homes for the Homeless: Churches Tire of Quick Fixes and Seek Solutions. Pacific Presbytery’s mission work has been featured in numerous PCUSA publications. Heidi has participated in coalitions in LA County that have successfully passed legislation for homeless services and affordable housing, and helped initiate the Faith Alliance to End Homelessness of LA County, launched fall 2024. Heidi was the author of a General Assembly Overture that created the PCUSA Meso-American Migration Mission Network that launched in March 2024. Pacific Presbytery has been a member of ENLA since the Woolsey fire, and Heidi was designated to represent Presbyterian Disaster Assistance as their regional representative to ENLA in January 2025. Heidi has two daughters, Hannah (23) and Madeleine (19). She loves to sing and has performed with symphony choirs up and down the West Coast. She currently sings with the Angel City Chorale of Los Angeles, recently singing in Italy. She enjoys travel, hiking, biking, theater, coffee with friends, anything ocean--and being a mom.
